Graduation Data

B. GWU Physician Assistant Studies Graduation Data

In evaluating whether matriculated students are capable of successfully completing the program, the Department of Physician Assistant Studies reviews student attrition and graduation rates as key indicators of program effectiveness. The program has established a benchmark of two or fewer student attritions per cohort, equivalent to an attrition rate of 6% or less (graduation rate of at least 94% or less). Although the graduation benchmark has not been met for each of the past three cohorts, the program has identified an upward trend worth noting. In response, the program conducts an annual review of all attrition cases to determine whether modifications to remediation processes, curriculum, academic standing policies, or student support services could have mitigated student loss. The program also partners closely with the º£½ÇÍø Noel Center for Disability Resources to ensure appropriate accommodations and advocate for students who require additional academic support. Through these continuous quality improvement efforts, the program remains committed to fostering student success and providing comprehensive support throughout each student’s PA education journey.
