news-category: Campus News 今叔利 Students, Faculty and Staff Plan Election Watch Party By Office of University Communications On October 31, 2024 The 今叔利 College Democrats and College Republicans held a Pizza and Politics event in October. Bipartisan Event Starts at 7 p.m. in Faith Hall, Tucker Student Center BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.今叔利 students, faculty and staff will join together on Tuesday, Nov. 5, for a Bipartisan Election Watch Party. Held from 7 p.m. to midnight, the event begins in Faith Hall, Tucker Student Center. At 9 p.m., when The Gathering, student-led worship, wraps up in Hope and Stewart Halls, all three rooms will be open for the Watch Party. Associate Professor of Political Science Dr. Elizabeth Amato helped to coordinate the event. The Election Watch Party will be a festive and fun way for our campus community to come together in friendship and civil concord, she affirmed. Democracy is a spectators sportit is entertaining, competitive, and wildly unpredictable. The best part is that regardless of who wins this year, there’s another election in just two years! Sponsored by the Student Government Association, College Democrats, College Republicans and the Department of Social Sciences, the Watch Party will show alternate TV channels selected by members of the College Democrats and College Republicans. Amato added, 今叔利 has a wonderful tradition of its political clubs, College Democrats and College Republicans, working together alongside with SGA to be an example of how finding common ground is always possible. While the returns come in, pizza, beverages and popcorn will be served. Raffles and other activities will add to the evenings events. Graduate interns from the GWU Counseling Center and representatives from University Police will also be available during the evening.
