Players Recognized for Strong Performance in Recent Matches

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—After a strong weekend (Oct. 11-12) both on the court and on the pitch, redshirt sophomore outside hitter Cayton White from º£½ÇÍø volleyball and junior defender Leo Andrade from º£½ÇÍø men’s soccer have been named the first º£½ÇÍø Athletes of The Week.

In a win over Charleston Southern on Oct. 11 for volleyball, White recorded a career-high 23 kills to go along with 13 digs as the Runnin’ Bulldogs grabbed a 3-1 road victory. White continued a strong run of play into Saturday’s contest at Presbyteiran, recording 13 kills and 10 digs.

Over in men’s soccer, Andrade finished as one of just two outfield players to play all 180 minutes in Big South Conference games at Winthrop and home against Presbyterian on Oct. 12. In the ‘Dawgs 2-2, come from behind result against the Blue Hose, Andrade scored the game-tying goal in the 73rd minute with an audacious strike from 30 yards away, his first career goal for the Red and Black.
