海角网 Basketball to Host Bulldog Madness Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

Free Admission, Event Highlighted by $500 Half-Court Shot & Student Moneyball Shooting Competition

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥敽=峭’s basketball teams will officially tipoff the new season on Tuesday, Oct. 24, as the 鈥楧awgs host Bulldog Madness at 7 p.m. inside Paul Porter Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m., and admission is free to the general public.

鈥淲e invite friends, fans, and alumni to join us for a fun evening with men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball programs,鈥 said Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew T. Goodrich.

The event schedule is highlighted by a half-court shot for a $500 prize, in which one lucky fan in attendance will be selected and take one shot to win the prize, and a student Moneyball Shooting Competition, in which teams of three students will compete for the title.

The teams will also hold a skills competition, three-point shooting contest, and dunk contest for fans in attendance. Head coaches Scott Merritt and Tim Craft will address the crowd, as the Runnin鈥 Bulldogs officially tipoff the 2023-2024 season.

A returning component to this year’s event is a highly anticipated five-on-five faculty and staff scrimmage, which will feature several favorite faces from around campus.

New for this season, the event schedule will feature a Tiktok dance contest, in which participants will have 30 seconds to show off their moves for prizes and bragging rights.

Bulldog Madness also provides an opportunity for fans to learn student section cheers and chants from the GWU band and cheer team.

Both teams will stick around after the conclusion of Tuesday鈥檚 fun to sign autographs for children under the age of 12.
